EU4CHILD - A crowdsourced Ecosystem to fight Childhood Cancer

European

EU4CHILD was a European initiative dedicated to enhancing pediatric cancer care through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Focusing on cancers such as neuroblastoma and nephroblastoma, the project aimed to establish a comprehensive, crowdsourced ecosystem that supported AI-driven services for the detection, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of these diseases.

A central component of EU4CHILD was the development of a one-stop portal that served as a European-wide knowledge base for childhood cancer. This platform facilitated data sharing and collaboration among healthcare professionals, researchers, patients, and AI experts, promoting the exchange of information, datasets, and innovative tools.

The project emphasized the importance of eXplainable AI, ensuring that AI algorithms provided transparent and understandable insights to support clinical decision-making. By addressing challenges related to data privacy, interoperability, and the scarcity of pediatric cancer data, EU4CHILD sought to overcome existing barriers in healthcare digitization.

Through community-building efforts, ethical research, and data-driven innovation, EU4CHILD aspired to improve care pathways for young cancer patients. By connecting key European stakeholders, including leading experts in pediatric oncology, medical entities, technology developers, and research institutions, the project fostered a collaborative environment aimed at advancing personalized diagnostics and patient care.
